To Report an absence

To Report an absence

Parents/guardians may call the attendance office at (530) 656-2255 ext. 100 to report an absence.
If no one answers, please leave a voicemail message providing:

(1) your name and relationship to the student;
(2) your student’s name and grade;
(3) a reason for the absence;
(4) the date(s) of the absence(s) being reported.

Alternatively, parents/guardians may email the Attendance Office at attendance@eastnicolaus.k12.ca.us.  Attach all relevant documents to excuse the absent date(s) in question.
Important:

Both excused and unexcused absences count toward your student’s absence rate.  Absences cleared in Saturday School count as days present in school, and do not contribute to individual student absence rates.
To Request an Early Release/Off-Campus Pass

To Request an Early Release/Off-Campus Pass

If your student must leave early during the school day, an adult who is an emergency contact for your student must request an off-campus pass from the school.
Additionally, your student MUST be picked up by an adult who meets the following criteria:

  • Is listed as an emergency contact in your student’s school profile.
  • Arrives in person to pick up the student.
  • Presents a valid state ID.

If you have any questions or concerns regarding off-campuses, or need to request one, please visit or contact the ENHS Attendance Office at (530) 656-2255.  You may also reach the Attendance Office by email: attendance@eastnicolaus.k12.ca.us.

Saturday School

Saturday School

Clearing absences in Saturday School is based on the principle that academic time lost due to absences can be recovered on Saturdays. One four-hour session in Saturday School recovers one full-day absence or 6 absent periods.

Absences that are cleared by attending Saturday School…

  • Do not count as absences on individual student attendance records.
  • Reduce individual student absence totals.
  • Count as days present in school, due to the recovery of academic time.
  • Help repair excessive absenteeism, instead of contributing negatively to it.
  • Help improve individual student attendance records.

* EXCUSING ABSENCES DOES NOT CLEAR THEM
  FROM STUDENT ATTENDANCE RECORDS.
* BOTH EXCUSED ABSENCES AND UNEXCUSED ABSENCES
  CONTRIBUTE TO EXCESSIVE ABSENTEEISM.
